On June 3, 2016, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California issued an order denying class certification in a lawsuit against Conair Corporation brought by a woman seeking to certify a potential class of approximately 135 million persons for false advertising. In an environment in which plaintiff’s attorneys routinely file class action lawsuits seeking multi-million and billion dollar awards and often obtaining substantial settlements, the denial of plaintiff’s motion to certify the proposed class in this case represents an important victory for corporations.

Rosen Saba, LLP, a Beverly Hills-based civil litigation and trial lawyer firm, represents Conair Corporation.  Ryan Saba and Momo Takahashi were the primary handling attorneys for Rosen Saba.  Mr. Saba was recently quoted in a national legal publication stating: “Conair is grateful that the Court reached a well-reasoned decision not to certify this class by wading through difficult and distracting facts.  Class actions are not supposed to be this way and we are glad that our firm was able to achieve a successful result for our client.”
